Laura is a highly experienced psychotherapist who specialises in working with children, adolescents, and families. She offers a calm, compassionate and containing therapeutic space where young people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported.

Laura understands that children and teenagers often communicate their feelings in ways that go beyond words. She therefore works in a flexible and developmentally attuned way, using play, creativity, and conversation to help young people explore their emotions and experiences at a pace that feels safe for them. Her approach is grounded in a strong understanding of child development, attachment, and the emotional worlds of children and teenagers, helping young people make sense of what they are feeling and build greater confidence and resilience over time.

Laura has particular experience supporting neurodivergent children and young people, including those with ADHD and autism. She works in a neuro-affirming and thoughtful way, helping young people better understand themselves, manage overwhelming feelings, and navigate the challenges they may experience at school, in friendships, or within family life. She also supports parents to better understand their child’s needs and strengths, and to feel more confident in how they respond.

Alongside this, Laura works with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties affecting young people, including anxiety, stress, low mood, emotional overwhelm, trauma, eating difficulties, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts, as well as challenges related to friendships, school, and family life. She is particularly skilled at supporting young people who may be experiencing complex or high levels of distress, offering a steady, non-judgemental space where they can begin to process difficult feelings safely.

Laura recognises the important role that parents and caregivers play in a child’s wellbeing and works thoughtfully with families where helpful, supporting parents to better understand their child’s emotional world and feel more confident in how they respond.

Laura has over a decade of experience supporting children and young people in both therapeutic and educational settings. Her integrative training allows her to draw on a range of evidence-informed approaches, including attachment-based, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, and trauma-informed therapies, ensuring her work is carefully tailored to the individual needs of each child and family she supports.
Thoughtful and reflective in her practice, Laura remains deeply engaged with ongoing learning and research in child and adolescent mental health, continually developing her work to best support the young people and families she works with.

Laura may be a good fit if your child or teenager:

Feels anxious, overwhelmed, or struggles with worries they can’t easily manage
Is struggling with a change in the situation at home, perhaps through a parental separation or divorce
Is neurodivergent, including children and teenagers with ADHD or autism, and would benefit from a supportive space to explore their feelings and experiences
Seems withdrawn, low in mood, or is struggling with confidence
Is finding friendships, relationships, or school particularly challenging
Has experienced a traumatic or distressing event and is finding it hard to process
Is struggling with self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or intense emotions
Has a difficult relationship with food or their body
Finds it hard to talk about what they are feeling, but may express themselves through behaviour, play, or creativity
