Sofia is a thoughtful and highly skilled psychotherapist trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s leading centres for understanding the emotional development of children and families. She works with children, adolescents and adults, and has particular expertise in supporting young people and their families through complex emotional and developmental challenges.

Sofia’s work is informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, helping clients explore the deeper emotional patterns, experiences and relationships that shape how they think, feel and respond to the world around them. Alongside this reflective work, she also integrates practical strategies for emotional regulation and coping, helping young people and families manage the everyday challenges that life can bring.

Through her work across educational and community settings, Sofia has developed extensive experience supporting children and adolescents who may feel overwhelmed, misunderstood or struggling to navigate the pressures of modern life. She is particularly skilled in supporting young people experiencing anxiety and emotional overwhelm, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), trauma or distressing life events, eating difficulties or disordered eating patterns, low self-esteem and confidence difficulties, school-related stress or social challenges.

Sofia has a strong interest in working with neurodivergent children and adolescents, including those with autism, ADHD or other differences in how they experience and process the world. She recognises that neurodivergent young people often face additional challenges in environments that are not always designed for their needs, and she works sensitively to help them feel understood, supported and empowered.

Alongside her work with young people, Sofia also offers therapeutic support to parents and families. She helps parents reflect on the patterns and dynamics that shape family relationships, supporting them to better understand their child’s emotional world and respond with greater confidence, clarity and compassion. This work often strengthens communication within the family and creates a more secure and supportive environment for children to thrive.

Sofia’s style is calm, thoughtful and deeply empathetic. She provides a safe and containing space where children, parents and families can explore difficult experiences, develop emotional understanding and build resilience for the future.
